Machinery Repair and Restoration

We have been restoring machinery on and off since the company's start in 1983. About half of the restored machinery was for use here in our shop and the other half was for customers. We have the experience and capabilities to restore almost any type of equipment to fully functional condition. More than a dozen machines have been restored by us.

For an example; we were recently contacted about a lathe that the clutch was not working in. They had been un-able to find parts or a repairman for the lathe. After contacting us we determined that there were no parts available as well as no manual or parts brake downs. We disassembled the lathe blind, found a hydraulic clutch that had galled and warped clutch plates. After reconstructing a clutch plate we custom made replacement clutch plates and installed them. Once the lathe was working again it was determined that the spindle bearings were bad as well. We proceeded to find the proper size and spec bearings to replace the spindle bearings with and made the replacement. All of these repairs were completed on-site at the customers facility.

If parts had been available for this lathe, these repairs would have been easy and could be completed by anyone. But due to the nature of the repairs our experience and capabilities allowed us to repair a lathe that no one else had been able to repair.

Chandler & Price Printing Press Restoration

Only in the last few years did we stumble upon these neat pieces of antique machinery when someone contacted us that had a Chandler and Price Pilot that needed extensive casting repairs. While doing a full restore of the little press we became fascinated by these unique pieces of machinery. Curiosity lead to researching more about these letter presses and we discovered that there were many other types and sizes.

After the completion of the Pilot found someone local with a 10 x 15 Chandler and Price Old Style for sale and took it on as a project. We had so much fun doing restoring the 10x15 that we decide to make it a side aspect to the business of designing and building production machinery and prototypes.

Our experience in machinery restoration really aided us I the restoration of the first two presses. So far we have restored ten Chandler and Price printing presses.

If you are selling a press we are always interested. Please email us and we will go from there.

Below are photos of some of the presses we have restored to date. We have a selection of presses and press parts.
